'No Paper No Podium' Policy

A 'no paper – no podium' policy is adopted. The manuscripts of the papers meeting the instructions for manuscript preparation (see below) should be available for the Organizing Committee before April 30, 2000. Send two hard copies of the manuscript, a floppy disk of the text (or an attached file via e-mail), one set of original illustrations and one set of copies of illustrations to Sergei M. Frolov, Technical Co-Chair.

Instructions For Manuscript Preparation

The article should be no more than 6000 words in length, including figures, tables, and references. Leave one inch margin on all sides of a standard 8.5 in. x 11.0 in. paper (or A4 paper) and  use 12 font Times lettering with double spaced one-side typing.

The title page should contain the title of the article and the name(s) of the author(s) below the title. This should be followed by the Abstract (150–200 words), Introduction, the Text, Concluding Remarks, Acknowledgments, and References.

Indicate the approximate location of illustrations in the margin. Do not include them in the text. A 2.5 in. x 2.5 in. standard diagram in the book is equivalent to about 80 words, and a full width 2.5 in. figure will be about 160 words. Please include one set of illustrations suitable for reproduction. Original illustrations should not be larger than 6.5 in. x 8 in. or less than 1.5 in. x 1.5 in. The quality of labeling, line thickness and other details should be adequate to maintain acceptable density and clarity after appropriate reduction (typically 2.5 in. x 2.5 in.). Photographic illustrations should be supplied as glossy prints (negatives and slides are not acceptable). Color prints will be accepted if authors pay the additional costs incurred. Use a minimum amount of text within the illustrations; the figure captions can be extensive giving those details. Provide a separate list of figure captions, with figure numbers. The above apply for tables as well.
